About the Group

The Hindustan Group of Instituitons was founded in 1966 by our founder and Chairman, Late Dr.K.C.G Verghese. In the Sixties, our Chairman had realized the need for an institution that offers non - formal technical education.
The establishment of Hindustan Engineering Training Centre (HETC) helped in the evolution of Hindustan Institution of Engineering Technology (HIET) which met this need. This educationist, industrialist and pioneer of the concept of non-formal technical education in Chennai (Madras) headed several other institutions. These institutions aim at imparting quality education in the fields of engineering, aviation, applied sciences and management.
Under the able leadership of Chairperson Dr. Elizabeth Verghese the Mission of the Group to impart the vocational Skills to the marginalized was realized through HCC in 2010 .

Director's Message

In our country the gross enrollment ratio is very low. Out of 60 million children enrolling in the primary education, only 6 million are observed to complete XII grade.
The need of the hour, for the millions of youngsters who drop out of schooling is vocational courses is to be a productive member of a society. HCC strives, true to its motto, to elevate the socio economic status of the marginalized and inculcate skill based learning in the next generation.
Dr. Susan Marthandan
DIRECTOR
, HCAS.
Vice-Chancellor's Message
In a country like India, where formal education and training is not available to the majority of population and a large proportion of the workforce is either self-employed or employed in informal
sector, it is very important to provide them knowledge, skill and training locally and through an informal system. Community Colleges across the world have been engaged in providing the required skill upgradation and training to the local population and enabling their progression and skills.
Hindustan Community College was established in the year 2010 and have been serving the local community through its various programmes enabling the youth to earn their living and upgrade their skills and thus contributing
to the society. I congratulate the efforts of the Management and faculty and wish them success in their future endeavours.
